Year 10 Footballers star in the States

Over the Easter holidays, 8 of our current Year 10 footballers represented Salford Boys on their annual tour to California. Max Bardsley Rowe, James Bulloch, Alex George, Louis Holt, Liam Pollitt, Toby Morgan, Caleb Richards and Charlie Sykes were all selected to travel with the touring party.
The boys played 8 games in the space of 11 action packed days, winning 4, drawing 3 and suffering just the one defeat. Their efforts were rewarded with a number of man of match performances and consistently high standards of behaviour.
Other highlights included trips to Sea World and San Diego Zoo, Universal Studios and Hollywood Boulevard.
The following is a brief account of the tour from Alex George and Caleb Richards;
California Tour 2014
“California was a good experience especially when you’re with your mates. The flight was a drag (over 10 hours!) although it was worth it when we       arrived in LA. Playing against all of the American players and meeting new people was a good experience. Staying with an American family was also a good experience as me and Caleb stayed at a American house for 2 nights and it was good to know what the American way of life was like.
We also went to theme parks and swimming pools. We travelled from Los    Angeles to San Diego and stopped off in Palm Springs midway through the tour, it was a holiday of a life time. I am now waiting for details about getting a scholarship and moving to the US, I would definitely recommend playing for Salford School Boys so that you can go to America aswell.”
