Year 11 Charity
- When You Wish Upon A Star

The Year 11 Charity has had an absolutely fantastic start. In just over three weeks the students and staff have raised on outstanding £2452.

We have witnessed :-

  • Staff taking part in an ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’ which raised over £300.
  • Cake Sale where Miss Haydock and a group of students raised over £250.
  • Two thirds of all students have bought the "Charity Badge", for those of you who still need to buy one we have now got new stock in school.
  • The year 11s were promoting the charity at the recent Year 6 Open Evening, thank you to all the parents who helped to contribute a further £120.

Bush Tucker Trial

Next Thursday, 23rd October at 3.30, will see the Year 11
take on the Staff for a Bush Tucker Challenge.

Those who are fortunate to buy a ticket will witness 15 students take on
15 members of staff at eating some "unusual" food items.

Who will be crowned "King / Queen" of the jungle?

Many students across all the year groups in school are taking up the challenge and organising their own fundraising events outside of school.

A special mention must go to Ben Ali in Year 9 who has raised £50 for the charity by helping around the home and keeping his room tidy for a full week. Ben is really keen and focused in helping meet the challenge of raising £7000 so that the Walkden High School can send a terminally ill child to Florida to swim with dolphins. Thank you Ben.
