High Sugar/High Energy  Drinks

We will be enforcing our ban. Water is always available - free

As the chancellor pointed out to us recently in his introduction of a sugar tax, high sugar drinks and high energy drinks are really, really not good for our health.

We have a school ban on sugary and high energy drinks. However, I am aware that we have not been enforcing this ban strongly enough.

Nevertheless, I want to be clear with you that Lucozade, Pepsi, Coke, Monster and their cheaper copies are not acceptable drinks for young people trying to learn. They make them fractious and create huge highs and lows in mood and energy which are not helpful to learning.

We have filtered and chilled water available all day, every day via our water fountains and this is free. If your child needs a drink they can have one.

I would ask you to speak to your child and make it clear to them that you will support us when we confiscate and dispose of their high sugar/energy drink and that you understand that this is for their own good.
