We have been contacted by a Neighbourhood Officer regarding a traffic situation around Devoke Avenue. Residents have reported that, around school start and finishing times, there is a noticeable increase in cars cutting through this road, speeding and not giving way where appropriate. Whilst we completely understand parents’ and carers’ frustrations at the level of road works in the locality, we would urge anyone driving in the area to show caution: accidents can happen all too easily, particularly in the cold weather, when icy roads can cause unexpected hazards to both cars and pedestrians. Our children are precious and so we must drive carefully in the area to ensure that we do not put them at risk.
