Show you care, park elsewhere

This issue was not top of Ofsted’s list of areas for improvement for us as a school. However, for parents who are disabled, or have children who are disabled, the difficulties they face getting into our disabled parking spaces at the end of the day is immensely important.

Thank you to the huge majority of you who understand that our entrance on Old Clough Lane is confined and very limited and who choose to park further up the road or on another street and walk down to meet your child at the end of the day. I appreciate your efforts and consideration of others in doing so.

Can I ask the small number of you who ignore our double yellow lines and ignore the fact that the space on our Old Clough Lane entrance is limited to show you care and park elsewhere please? We really need this limited space for the taxis who take some of our vulnerable students home and for disabled parents and children. If you can park somewhere else and walk down to school please do so.

If conditions do not improve then I will have to shut the external school gates and allow no one onto the premises. This would make life difficult for those I’ve mentioned above, but it might be the only option I am left with. I cannot afford to take the risk that a child or adult is injured, or worse, due to ludicrously selfish parking.

Show you care, park elsewhere.
