Improvements to our premises during summer

Once again, this summer we will spend time and money improving our premises further.

This year we are installing a fence that will close off the area that contains our bike shelter. This will serve two purposes. Firstly it will put a stop to the distressing theft of bicycles by local thieves. Secondly, we are going to trial the new enclosed space as a play/social area that is exclusively for our new year 7s so that if there are any of our students who feel they are still not ready for the main playground they will have a dedicated space where they will only encounter year 7s.

The other major works we are completing this summer will be to reconfigure The Hive, which was left as a blank canvas when the building was constructed. Now that we know what we want to do in this space and how we want to work we are installing walls and creating separate spaces. We believe this will improve what we provide for our young people in this part of the school.

Improving our school is a continuous process and the lead-in times for some of these projects are really quite long but please rest assured that both my team and I are constantly looking for ways of improving your child’s experience of school.
