The Society for Abandoned Animals Dog Show

Alishia Peake in Year 7 was the lucky winner of a competition set by Morrissey House’s charity The Society for Abandoned Animals in which students were invited to draw or photograph their own pet or dream pet.  The day began with Alishia, along with her family and friends, being given a tour of the sanctuary before taking up her role as a guest judge in the dog show.  Categories included Most Handsome Hunk, Loveliest Lady, Golden Oldie, Best Rescue and Best in Show and Alishia did a fantastic job talking to the owners and presenting the trophies.  Many congratulations to Alishia who was a superb representative of Walkden High School!

If you’d like to know more about the work of the SAA or you are interested in adopting an animal or volunteering please visit their website www.saarescue.co.uk  You can also support the charity by attending their Summer Fair on Saturday 13th July.   Mrs Venables
