The Salford Dance Explosion 2016

I am very proud this year to have three groups this year’s Salford Dance Explosion. The Juniors performed on Monday night and the Seniors and G.C.S.E. Year 11 dancers performed on Wednesday at The Lowry. All groups were amazing and performed to a very high standard.

The Junior group performed a jazz dance piece called ‘Fever’. The girls definitely had the ‘Fever’! The weeks of rehearsing paid off, all the girls were in time, projected their movements and gave a fantastic performance.

Well done to the following :

Lucie Hickson, Abigail Broughton, Sophie Fisher, Lucy Forman, Isabelle Holland, Ashni Lalji, Emily Huntington, Hannah Potter, Alex Reidy, Natasha Jenkins, Rachel Cunliffe, Charlotte Green, Katie Barlow, Millie Cunnigham, Polly Greaves, Isabelle Barlow, Sofia Dolby, Paige Williams, Georgia Daley

The Senior group performed a piece called ‘This Woman Can!’ The piece was based upon the experiences shared by girls— it made me proud to be a woman! I started the group off with a piece of choreography then the group divided into contemporary dancers and street dancers and the girls took it away from there.

Well done to the following:

Emily Ogden, Yasmin Mitchell, Isabel Jackson, Kerys Fairhurst, Hannah Smith, Aisha Jae ClareWhelen, Ria Sillveirinha, Katie Waring, Lucy Fisher, Briony Fox, Olivia Hickson, Ella Dunn, Mia Richardson, Libby Tattersall

The year 11 G.C.S.E. dancers stepped in at the last minute because another school had cancelled. The girls performed an exam piece ‘The Asylum’. I was blown away by their performance. If they performed in their exam as they did on the night they will receive very good grades. Well done girls, you did me proud.

Well done to:
Caitlyn Brady, Molly McQuade, Georgia Boothman, Joli Walker, Karina Cusick, Chelsea Whittaker
