We've had an amazing week. So many different experiences and events. We've had our first whole school sponsored walk and I know we?ll have raised an impressive amount of money for our school charity,Ronald McDonald House. We'll let you know next week how much we've raised. It is worth remembering that we are supporting this charity in memory of ThomasMichael Martin. Earlier in the week, on Wednesday,we had a huge range of activities taking place, including Bollywood Dancing, a visit to Manley Mere and the fantastic obstacle course there, Archery, Rock Climbing, Fire Starting,Caving,Cup Cake Capers,Carnival, Pond Building, working with Jet Propulsion, Bridge Building, Foot Golf, Paintballing,Harry Potter Fest & Cross Stitching to name but a few. Tuesday saw students looking at Crime Awareness (Year 7), Leadership with Salford Reds (Year 8) and Mindfulness and Self Awareness (Year 9).

On Monday to Wednesday Year 10 visited local colleges and 6th form centres to see what's on offer for them in just over a year?s time.We hope they found these days informative and hopeful broadened some horizons in the process. I hope your son or daughter has found the days interesting and stimulating. I would like to thank all the staff involved in the huge amount of planning that goes into a week of this nature.

I would also like to thank all the staff who have encouraged and engaged pupils throughout the week and have made it such a success. Finally I would like to thank all of the pupils who have been incredibly positive and ambitious in their approach to the week. Thank you for being such Walkden STARS.
