And finally...

As we move through January the days start to lengthen, snow drops and crocuses start to appear and we start to get a sense that the light at the end of the winter tunnel is getting brighter.

This is all part of the human spirit of hope. Hope that positive change will come.

Friday 27th January was Holocaust Memorial Day and the theme this year was "How can life go on?" When we remember some of the horrors of the acts carried out by the Nazis, we may well ask this question. How can life go on? What is profoundly moving when listening to the recollections of survivors in their strength of spirit. Their wish to see positive change and to be part of a world that is more caring, loving and respectful.

It is important for us to remember how horrifically humans can behave when they talk about "their own people". It is important for us to remember that hate cannot defeat hate. It is important for us to remember that only love can defeat hate.

Let us try to live together in harmony with our neighbours and accept that if they are different to us, then we are different to them. No-one is 'right' - we just are.
